Smart appliances you'll want in your home

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the new Fisher & Paykel Experience Centre in Brunswick. We had a wonderful tour of the showroom and got to learn a lot about their appliances. One of the things that blew me away was the technology and how smart these appliances were. In this post I will be sharing some of my favourite features that will make cooking, cleaning and laundry so much easier and more convenient!

Fisher and Paykel Experience Centre in Brunswick

1 | Smart induction cooktop

Fisher & Paykels's Full Surface Induction Cooktop literally left me with my mouth hanging open. I love that you can cook across the entire surface rather than having to stay within particular zones, and that the cooktop will track that one pan or pot across the surface if you move it. However, my favourite feature was that you can set each pot or pan to it's own unique temperature and add a different timer for each one as well!

2 | Cooktops that talk to the rangehood

For anyone like me who always forget to turn on the rangehood when they turn on the cooktop, then you'll love this. They have just released a new feature with their induction cooktops that automatically turns on your rangehood once the induction cooktop is turned on. As well as the standard overhead rangehoods, they have also downdraft rangehoods that sit right next to the cooktop - making it easy to move your cooktop to an island or in front of a large window.

3 | Multi-purpose fridge drawer

Another appliance that I loved was their CoolDrawer Multi-temperature Drawer. This is a refrigerated drawer that can be integrated into your cabinetry and has multiple functions: fridge, freezer, pantry, chill and wine. What I loved about this is the versatility it allows. You could use it as a drinks fridge normally, change it to a freezer when you really need, or swap it to a wine fridge when you have a gathering. Because it is a drawer it also gives you the ability to easily integrate it into an island or case cabinet - and you can even do two side-by-side for extra flexibility.

4 | Fabric care cabinet

Fisher & Paykel have worked with fabric specialists to create a product that allows you to care for your clothes in a way that is more convenient while also extending the longevity of the clothes. Their fabric care cabinet comes with settings for refresh, dry, deodorise and sanitise, with care settings for wool, leather, shoes, delicates and more. It allows you to refresh things like shoes, leather jackets and jeans without the need to wash them or to take a trip to the dry cleaner. Place it in the laundry with your washing machine or pop it into your WIR for added convenience.

5 | Google home connection

Another feature that I loved was being able to connect your appliances to google home to be able to adjust the temperature, add timers and turn off appliances without needing to walk all the way to the product. This is perfect for those with young kids or the ultimate multi-tasker! They also have a SmartHQ app in which you can remotely control, monitor and manage your products.

Please note that this blog post is not sponsored by Fisher and Paykel and these are my honest thoughts and experiences of their products.

I hope these ideas have been helpful! If you want to find out more about how we can help you with your project, get in contact with us below:
