Homes designed to reduce friction
Whether it’s doing the laundry, lack of space, or too much clutter, our aim is to understand what your current friction points are and remove them. Through layout changes, clever storage and considered selections, we design spaces that help ease the tension created by current issues in your living space - while also thinking forward to ensure we are not creating stress in other areas.
Homes that help you dream big
We love dreaming big, and we want to help our clients do the same. Whether it’s a healthy lifestyle change or a passion you want to pursue, a big change like a home renovation can create the perfect blank slate to get you started. We want to know about your goals and aspirations, so we can create spaces that support these.

Where possible, we aim to make informed and considered decisions when selecting materials and finishes, to ensure your home is as healthy as possible to live in.

Biophilic design
Biophilic design is focused on creating spaces that connect the inhabitants to nature in order to help improve our wellbeing and happiness. We do this by including specific aspects such as natural light, natural materials and finishes, and colours that represent nature.

Environmentally conscious interiors
Where possible, we also aim to make informed and considered decisions during the design process, to ensure your home is as environmentally conscious as possible. Whether it’s selecting water efficient fixtures, sustainable materials or making suggestions to reduce waste at demolition stage, we want your new spaces to have as little impact on the environment as possible.

Designing your dream home should be an inspiring and rewarding experience, which is why we aim to take all the stress out of the process with our open communication and our effective processes. Meet the team
Nina Di Marco
Founder and Principal Designer

YDM Design Studio was born out of my love for interiors and my passion for helping people. Our work and design philosophy are heavily influenced by my experiences growing up. As someone who has lived in over 20 houses and has a history of severe anxiety, I have become passionate (often obsessively so) about understanding how our environment influences our wellbeing. I’m very determined, organised and a forever learner, which has become a winning combination not only in running this business, but in setting and achieving other personal goals. Now I want to use this knowledge, my love for interior design and my 10+ years of experience in the industry, to help my clients create their dream life - not just their dream homes.
Kaytie Allen
Executive and Design Assistant

Kaytie started at YDM Design Studio in June 2022 and has since become an integral part of our business. Kaytie is a qualified interior designer with a Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration. With over 6 years experience in the industry, Kaytie enjoys creating spaces for clients that are practical and functional yet still beautiful and unique to the client and their home. In her role as Executive and Design Assistant, Kaytie helps out with everything from admin and marketing to design and procurement.
